Fifteen faithful net bowlers were handpicked by the BCCI to support the Indian squad during their Training Session. Young talents such as Umran Malik, Yash Dayal, Kuldeep Sen, Rahul Chahar, and Shams Mulani among others, took the field to contest and enhance the skills of the national players.

Ahead of their face-off against Pakistan on 2nd September 2023 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy, Team India is leaving no rock unturned. Following their thriving ODI series against Ireland (2-0), Jasprit Bumrah and his teammates are making their way about to the squad, ready to join the initial efforts from 26th August 2023.

KL Rahul, the universal wicketkeeper-batsman, made a significant presence during the Practice Session. Overcoming his recent injury that kept him missing from the WTC Final and West Indies Tour, Rahul showcased his prowess against bowlers like Jadeja, Sai Kishore, and Kuldeep Yadav.

The Practice Session also saw the Indian players partnering up for batting drills. The likes of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, and the duo of Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja honed their talents in pairs, saving an hour each to refine their techniques.

A notable highlight was Virat Kohli’s alone practice against Kuldeep Yadav and Sai Kishore. As spinners have posed challenges for Kohli in recent times, this focused practice is desired to bolster his belief against spin deliveries, crucial for both the Asia Cup 2023 and the World Cup 2023.
